Forgotten Tomb in Middle of Bangalore
Here hardly anyone notice or even knows that there is very old Tomb just behind the dargah of Hazrat Nana wali Shah Rahmatullahi alaih,
this Tomb is almost forgotten from the history and also from the memories of people.
The first impression I had when I visited this Tomb was that this might belong to some other Sufi saint from 1900s but I was astonished after I translated the inscription that is placed near the entrance on a small stone slab.
It says
Bismillahirrahmanirrahim
la ilaha illallah muhammadur rasulullah
Khatba e Tariq Ahmed Khan marhum
Farzand e subedar Bahadur Farid Khan
tha ek naujawan nek ikhilakh, jahir thi jiski mankirat, Farzand e Farid Khan subedar,
jab dare fana se paye rehlat khabar se nikale aur bole Ahmad Khan wo naujawan hua jawan e Jannat. Hijri 1856
Translation
In the name of Allah the most beneficient and merciful as date of this inscription mentioned on this tomb of late Ahmed Khan, the son of subedar Bahadur Farid Khan who was a very good young man and he went to his final abode in heavens in year 1856.
Except the stone inscription there is no other information available about this Tomb and who Ahmed Khan was but according to the inscription on the entrance we come to know that Ahmed Khan was the son of subedar or commander of this area during 1856
Inside the Tomb there are three Graves which do not have any kind of inscription but the middle grave is the one which belongs to Ahmed Khan.
Inside the tomb you can see there is a huge dome which is supported by heavy stones at the corners and it is made out of 2-in bricks and lime mortar
From Outside the Tomb it looks like a small dargah of some Sufi saint with small minarets with beautiful arch design.
